Operating Principle

Infrared energy becomes a usable control signal

The thermopile senses radiation from the target while an internal thermistor measures local ambient temperature.

01

Target emits IR

Every object above absolute zero emits thermal radiation.

02

Optics set the FOV

The optical path determines the measured area and distance relationship.

03

Thermopile responds

The detector converts received thermal energy into a voltage.

04

Signal is compensated

Ambient temperature and calibration data support object-temperature output.

05

MCU / ECU acts

Control logic drives a display, alarm, fan or system response.

Application Fit

Where non-contact sensing adds value

Select the sensor and field of view around the target, distance, response time and temperature range.
